Tampere's museums serve their customers through a high-quality online store
The online store project was launched in the spring of 2020, and a year later, in May, the joint online store of the Vapriikki Museum Center, the Tampere Art Museum, and the Moomin Museum went live.
The online store’s product selection was kept limited at first. Products from all the museums’ online stores are shipped to customers from Vapriikki’s warehouse, where order processing initially brought about changes to daily routines.
“At first, we added the most popular products to the online store, such as the latest releases, as well as textiles and other merchandise related to the exhibitions,” Karlsson explains.
In the summer of 2022, the product lineup was also expanded to include digital products, such as gift cards, guided tour products, and event tickets.
The Tampere Museums’ top priorities for the online store were ease of use and ease of maintenance, so that running a centralized online store for three different museums would not place an excessive burden on any single unit.
“We think this has worked really well,” Karlsson says.
According to Karlsson, the online store has met the museums’ needs. “The online store has provided exactly the added value we needed to serve our customers in line with their expectations. We are very pleased with our collaboration with Confirma Ceepos.”
