When Pekka Vasara decided to found KoneVasara in 2011, he had a clear vision of what kind of business Sodankylä needed. He wanted to establish a specialty store in Lapland that would offer everything under one roof: snowmobiles, ATVs, chainsaws, garden equipment, boats, and replacement parts. At the store, customers should receive expert service, high-quality machinery and equipment, and reliable maintenance.

Peka's vision didn't remain just an idea. Since its founding, KoneVasara has grown year after year, and at the same time, the company has continued to evolve.

New office space supports growth

KoneVasara has been using the Confirma ERP system since its founding. The system is involved in every aspect of daily operations: in maintenance, the maintenance calendar is open all day, and in the store, quotes, orders, and invoicing are handled. If payment reminders or collections are needed, those are also handled through Confirma. All information flows through the same enterprise resource planning system, which keeps operations clear and allows everyone to see where things stand.

As KoneVasara’s operations grew and evolved year after year, so did the demands placed on the company. Eventually, Pekka decided to invest in his own, carefully designed facilities that would better support KoneVasara’s day-to-day operations.

The facilities were designed in-house, as Pekka had a clear vision of how the store, warehouse, and maintenance operations should work together. The store must be neat and inviting, and the warehouse must be organized and efficient. For maintenance, they modeled the process after a factory-style operation: machines come in at one end and finished products go out the other.

The new facilities opened in November 2024 and have been warmly received by customers: with every detail carefully considered, the machines and equipment for sale look their best in the new space.

The online store opened doors for KoneVasara to the rest of Finland

The changes weren’t limited to the new store. Soon, another long-held dream came true: an online store of their own. The goal was to bring the store’s clarity and functionality to the web as well, and when Pekka found the right partner to build the online store, it made sense to design the entire system to be compatible with Confirma’s ERP. Confirma’s Flowvy e-commerce platform was selected as the online store solution, as it integrated seamlessly not only with the ERP system but also with KoneVasara’s business model.

Launched in March 2025, KoneVasara’s online store complements its brick-and-mortar location and offers customers an easy way to shop with KoneVasara from anywhere in Finland. The online store was a major investment, but its benefits became apparent quickly. Because the online store integrates directly with Confirma’s ERP system, day-to-day operations are seamless: orders are automatically transferred to the system, allowing them to be picked and processed first thing in the morning without any extra steps.

Pekka emphasizes that an online store must be fast and user-friendly for both the customer and the company. In a short time, the online store has become an important part of KoneVasara’s business—in many ways, it serves as the company’s second store.

As the workload increases, the tools must keep up

Over the years he’s been an entrepreneur, it has become clear to Pekka that systems must function the same way the business itself does. With sales, service, inventory, and now also the online store all running in parallel, it must be possible to manage the entire operation from a single location without any extra middlemen.

In his collaboration with Confirm, Pekka values above all else that things move forward. He can reach his contact person, get answers to his questions, and work together to come up with new solutions whenever the need arises. This provides a sense of certainty in work where not everything can be planned in advance.

Pekka also emphasizes this point to other entrepreneurs in the industry who are considering purchasing an ERP system. You shouldn’t choose a system based solely on your current needs. You should choose a system that grows with your business and allows you to add new features later, because no one knows yet what will be needed in two or five years.
