Operating in the heart of Western Uusimaa, Balanssiklubit has grown over the years to become one of the region’s most significant players in the fitness industry. Founded in 2007, the company operates four different locations and employs more than 25 people. Entrepreneurs Sami and Johanna Hellgren are particularly proud that they have succeeded in bringing the joy of exercise to people of all ages: the youngest participants are 11-year-old athletes, and the oldest are active exercisers over 90 years old.

Balanssiklubit has grown steadily, and at the same time, its operations have diversified. As the spring of the coronavirus pandemic freed up a little of the entrepreneurs’ time, they began to consider the direction of the future. The Hellgrens wanted to clarify their goals and considered what kind of company Balanssiklubit would be in one, three, and five years—and what it would take to achieve that. It soon became clear that achieving these goals would require a system that integrates all aspects of the business.

“We reviewed all the serious system vendors and ultimately chose Confirma’s solution,” Sami explains.

A single system simplifies everyday life and improves the customer experience

Confirma’s fitness center software has streamlined day-to-day operations at Balanssi Clubs, and it’s now easier than ever for customers to manage their accounts. With all functions consolidated into a single system, membership management, billing, and access control are handled automatically without any manual steps. Customers can purchase a membership online; the information is transferred directly to the system and to billing, and access is conveniently handled via a mobile app.

“With Confirma Active, we can handle everything in one place—that’s a big deal for both us and our customers,” says Johanna.

Confirma Active’s automation features also enhance the customer experience. Automated communications—such as those sent when a new customer signs up—save business owners time and improve customer satisfaction and engagement. In addition, Business Intelligence reporting provides accurate, location-specific data: business owners can see, for example, when customers visit and which services are worth offering at different times.

“It’s a big advantage that we can track exactly the things that are essential to our business,” Sami adds.

“Now that the system is fully up and running, we want to further deepen our collaboration and help develop the system so that it better meets the needs of Finnish fitness centers,” Sami summarizes.
