Mustasaari Swimming Pool

When construction of a new swimming center began in the municipality of Mustasaari in 2024, the decision was made to purchase the system from Confirma. The Mustasaari swimming center now uses Confirma Active fitness software, access control gates, and smart lockers.

According to Simon Granlund, the municipality’s sports coordinator, Confirma’s solutions significantly streamline the daily operations of the sports center. The point-of-sale system allows for the sale of both single-use and multi-use wristbands, and the software provides real-time visibility into which lockers are in use and how many customers are currently in the swimming center. The system also accommodates different user groups—for example, separate wristbands can be programmed for private locker rooms, making the software flexible to use and simplifying wristband management.

It was also important to the municipality of Mustasaari that safety be taken into account as part of the overall design. For example, it is always possible to exit through the gates even without a wristband, which enhances safety in all situations.

According to Granlund, the collaboration with Confirma has gone exceptionally well. He describes the service as clear and fast—help has always been available when needed, both remotely and on-site. The swimming center is located less than 10 kilometers from Confirma’s Vaasa office, so support has also been quickly available in person when necessary.

“We’ve received prompt responses, and our collaboration has been smooth from the very beginning. We’ll continue to work together on development so we can improve the customer experience at the swimming center—from the moment they arrive until they head home,” Granlund says.
