Operating in Luoto since 1985 Strandis Smokehouse has grown from a local campground into a multifaceted destination. Its operations have expanded over the years and now include a restaurant, a smokehouse, a brewery, a deli, and a catering service. The area also offers cottages for rent.
“The restaurant business remains our core focus, but our various operations support one another and form a strong foundation for the company’s growth,” says CEO Anders Högberg.
These diverse operations also placed high demands on the system. Strandik had previously used several different customer databases, product databases, and invoicing programs, which made day-to-day operations complicated and time-consuming.
When the decision was made to overhaul the entire system, the starting point was that the new system should serve as a link between different functions. The solution chosen was Confirma’s Jeemly point-of-sale system, which can also be easily expanded to include enterprise resource planning.
“Confirma Jeemly serves as the heart of our entire system—all the information is in one place, and operations are running more smoothly than ever,” Högberg sums up.
All areas of business in a single system
The collaboration with Confirma brought the desired clarity and efficiency to the overall process. Now all information flows through a single system, and the various areas work together seamlessly. Anders also emphasizes the importance of personalized service.
– It’s great that whenever we call Confirma, we always know who will answer. The support team is knowledgeable and understands our needs inside and out. They also know how to tell us when it’s the right time to make the necessary changes.
Daniel Löf, IT Development Manager at Strandis, sees a functional system as a critical part of future development as well. A point-of-sale system must handle the basics reliably, but it must also be expandable to meet new needs—even those that aren’t yet known. He believes that Confirma’s flexible API is crucial in this regard. Daniel’s advice to others looking to purchase a POS or ERP system is clear:
– When choosing a system, consider the big picture and compatibility. That’s what lays the foundation for future growth.
